Selfie at Disuga, Yunnan β€” elevation 4,600 m

πŸ”οΈ Disuga, Sanjiang Region β€” May 2025

Field investigation of **Triassic volcanic rocks** in the Sanjiang (Three Parallel Rivers) belt, northwestern Yunnan β€” part of the Paleo-Tethys arc magmatic system. The outcrop near **Disuga** sits at **>4,600 m** elevation, exposing a sequence of basaltic andesites interbedded with volcaniclastic deposits. At this altitude, I experienced **severe acute mountain sickness** β€” but it was worth it. πŸ”οΈ
